Not to mention all the fun activities that camps offer for their guests. Many parents use these camps as a means of respite for themselves, and other family members. Sometimes we all need a break, and knowing that the kids are in a safe and structured environment, with planned activities, and plenty of trained supervision, it really is a win-win situation for all the family members. The camps range from simple day camps, to overnight camping, to one and two week programs. Several of the programs offer "camperships", for families who are struggling a bit with the finances, don't worry, the camps understand this, and that is why they offer the help... If you would like to check what's available, where it is, activities, staffing, or any one of about a hundred questions you may have, this is the place to get those questions answered! Please follow this link to the Summer Camp Guide for Special Needs There are also several articles posted for choosing a camp, what to pack, and a very nice search option so you can search by location, start dates, and even your child's diagnosis. We would like to thank the Center for Children with Special Needs, for assembling, maintaining, and allowing us to link this very valuable resource. NOTE: The CCSHN was formed in 1998, and is a program of the Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center, which is located in Seattle. Thanks CCHSN!
