Parents Support Groups North Sound and Other Areas
TRIP-NS currently offers three parents support groups, for the North Sound area. You can view the day and time details for them, just below...
Attending a support group can be very helpful for dealing with the daily stress, and issues of raising a special needs child. You will meet parents who are experiencing the same things that go on in your house.
A Parents Support Group can be a great source for finding resources, getting ideas for how to keep the peace in your home, and most importantly, self care for the parents. We each have our own set of issues, stress, and problems. Sometimes it can all be overwhelming, to say the least. But when you attend a support group, one thing does become incredibily clear...
You are not alone, all of us have similiar issues to deal with:
- Family and friends who can't truly understand what we are going through.
- Schools that attempt to help, but are hampered by funding, policies, and attitudes.
- Issues and conflict between siblings.
- Maintaining a career, a marriage, or relationship, amidst all the different issues involved, and appointments for your child.
I strongly suggest trying to attend a Parents Support Group, they really make a difference in your own well being. If both parents can't make it, do the switch-aroo approach. Let Mom go to this one, and then Dad goes to the next one. TRIP-NS always tries to offer daycare, as we realize that it is a big issue for getting parents to attend a Parents Support Group.
The TRIP-NS parents support groups for the North Sound are at the top of the list, and then come all the others we have been able to locate. Most of the groups can be reached by phone or email, and a few have websites. If you know of one that we haven't listed, please click on the TRIP-NS box at the bottom of this page, and send us an email. You can also use the Contact Us button in the NavBar to the left.
OK, here is the list...
